Ex-NBA Scrub Paul Shirley Disses Haitian People

Former NBA player and sometime ESPN.com contributor Paul Shirley who averaged an entire 1.8 points while playing profesionally has decided he is much better being an unfeeling idiot who attacks a country that has just been hit by an earthqauke. He attacks Haiti for being poor and for a lack of birth control.
Here are some of the “highlights” of an article he wrote for Flipcollective.com:
First of all, kudos on developing the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Your commitment to human rights, infrastructure, and birth control should be applauded.
As we prepare to assist you in this difficult time, a polite request: If it’s possible, could you not re-build your island home in the image of its predecessor? Could you not resort to the creation of flimsy shanty- and shack-towns? And could some of you maybe use a condom once in a while?
….I haven’t donated to the Haitian relief effort for the same reason that I don’t give money to homeless men on the street. Based on past experiences, I don’t think the guy with the sign that reads “Need You’re Help” is going to do anything constructive with the dollar I might give him. If I use history as my guide, I don’t think the people of Haiti will do much with my money either.
ESPN.com found his statements so repulsive they have cut ties with him and issued this brief statement:
He was a part-time freelance contributor. The views he expressed on another site of course do not at all reflect our company’s views on the Haiti relief efforts. He will no longer contribute to ESPN.

now i dont agree wit this nigga .. but i think its a lil sad.. that it takes an earth quake for people to help out.. hati been poor for many many years.. i think we should of send them lil ten dollar texts along time ago.. and for other countries as well.. it dont have to be a fuckin disaster for us to cry and help .. and i find it funny theres no jobs rite no money and shit.. but a e body got bread to send out there.. but my prayers go out to those suffering across the world.. and especially in hati rite now..

To the dude above me, the problem they are so poor is because of the government. They basically take all the money that is made and care NOTHING about the people.
So in order for the country to change they need a NEW government. No different thank Iraq and other countries where the president has so much money and children are dying on the streets.
You see in the US much blood has been shed so we can have the rights and benefits we do, most people from other countries come here because of the way it is structured. NO the US is NOT perfect and many people here are struggling as well but at least there is an opportunity here to “MAKE IT”
With that said that ex nba player is just ignorant and does not understand what the people of Haiti are going through.
God bless the people of Haiti and everyone around the world
peace

We’ve passed away an ominous n worst moment.
In fact the EARTH Quake took place since many days. But still we are not totally free from its grasp.
I think at this moment HAITI really needs help to rebuild it. I support it with whole heartily. N i also wanna mention a personality
Charlito Baker (born June 3, 1955) who can supply the best support and leadership
Thank you.
