After causing an uproar thru the world of hip hop last week in a post on his blog where he said he isn’t obligated to help “local L.A. rappers,” Ice Cube wanted to clear up his statements this past Thursday (March 25)

“I want to make myself clear to all my fans who think I turned my back on the young rappers out here. No,” Cube wrote. “I wish every young MC nothing but success, especially the ones from the New West. BUT, I have a major problem with any mothaf***a from ANY COAST dissing the Old West … especially me. I’M SERVING YOU!”

He also went on to explain why he hasnt introduced the world to any new artist since Mack 10.

“I got burnt out. Niggas couldn’t take the baton and run wit it,” Cube said. “I was sick of babysitting grown ass men and walking them through the industry. I felt like Dr. Frankinstein building uncontrollable monsters. How? If you DON’T make’em a star, they blame you. If you DO make’em a star, they leave you. I got sick of that ungrateful sh**.”

Cube goes on to say he has filmed the music video for his first single, “I Rep That West.” , but no premiere date has been set.

His album “I Am The West” is scheduled for release on July 13.
