DJ Premier Says Kanye West Going Back To Boom Bap
DJ Premier has revealed that Kanye West is going back to basics on his new album.
In an interview with The Red Bulletin, veteran producer Premier credited the ‘Welcome To Heartbreak’ star for changing the recent course of hip-hop. He also spoke about the rapper’s highly-anticipated fifth album Good Ass Job.
“Well, first of all, if you look at all of Kanye West’s output, he actually did a lot to bring back sampling and make it cool again, even though he’s more of a mainstream artist,” he said.
“His new album is strictly hard beats and rhymes. He’s totally done with electro. You’re gonna be surprised [by] what you hear.”
