Thanks for your time Stress. How you doing, what’s new? What’s good?
No; thanks for having me. I’m good tho luv, just loving this Dade County life staying hungry and humble and giving thanks for everything God has put in front of me.
Industry Intervention is creating a buzz! Did you expect this much attention?
I wanna be politically correct with this answer and stay humble at the same time …but (smirks) I knew this project would be successful, what I didn’t know is the audience I would attract, that’s an experience that keeps me humble, when people you never thought would like your music actually do.
Tell us about the concept to the lead-off single, “Louie Shades”.
Well the concept was basically everything looks better when you’re staring through some almost thousand dollar frames. If you grew up rough like I did you can relate to just wanting to envision a better life just by simply throwing some shades on. I kept the concept fly to have more commercial and radio appeal so that’s the concept for the most part.
What producers should we listen out for on your project?
A lot of my production is in house or submitted to me via the web but I’m willing and waiting to work with some of Miami’s biggest names not even Miami just the industry’s best all together. Can’t give names, but can say beats will always be solid on my projects.
What’s your favorite track and why?
I don’t normally have favorites but “So Gone” is definitely my most heart felt record due to its content and the emotions that was described into the making of the record, almost brought me to tears recording it, true story. That’s a side I show and have no problem being real my grandmother always told me you’re not a man until you can show you’re human.
What would you say is the biggest challenge you face as an artist?
My personal challenge is being received in the town I’ve known and loved most of my life. You can hear I have a NY accent but I was raised in the south so if you ask me I’m from Miami. My challenge is I fear I wont be as loved in my city as someone who was born and raised here such as a Rick Ross or a Trick Daddy cuz I sound nothing like the two and to build a brand in a city you have to be welcomed and it’s a challenge. I sometimes think I wont be accepted, no issues thus far tho.
How long have you been an MC?
I will say I’ve been a MC which to me means artist and performer since about 2005. But as far as writing and rhyming I would say about 10-12 years
What’s next on the list?
Work, work and more work, networking, video’s, interviews, photo shoots, recording! A successful artist’s work never stops its not always the skill of the man but the will of the man, so I feel I have to out work these other artist.
