Kimora Lee Simmons Leaves Baby Phat

It is the end of an era. The most fabulous lady in celebrity clothing line decided to move on. EOnline reported that Kimora Lee Simmons is leaving her clothing line, Baby Phat and its parent company, Kellwood Company. The founder will officially leave her brand of 14 years as of September 1st.
Kimora released a statement regarding the matter:
“After 14 years of conceiving and nurturing Baby Phat, it’s time for me to move on and further expand my other businesses and create a new phenomenon. I adore all those who have faithfully been with me since the beginning.”
Kimora’s legacy in the Simmons clothing empire includes Baby Phat, KLS Collection, Kouture by Kimora and Fabulosity. Although she’s leaving, Kimora ensured her fans that she’s up for another venture, which will take inspiration from the next generation.
“I’m forever dedicated to my family, fans and customers. My inspiration has always come from the fabulous women who have been with me through the years as we’ve grown from young party girls to power players! We’re ready for our next journey together and we’re taking a whole new generation of incredible young women with us. Girl power unite!”

Kimora,
I have to be honest, I knew about Baby Phat and thought it was a trashy clothes’ company. However, after watching you in your TV programme “Life in the Fab Lane”, my opinion of you and your clothes line has done a 180! Your commitment to your family is absolutely brilliant. Your commitment to fashion is brilliant.
I have just learned that you have left Baby Phat and are persuing new adventures. If you are still designing, I would love for you to design a range for “Working Mums”!
After 13 years of marriage and now divorcing, I am back in the working world (i.e. the rat race)!! Please could you consider a line for the 40-plus ladies who are stepping out again.
Thank you for your humour.
Emma
