Before Carmelo Anthony even had a chance to try his on for size, his Knicks jersey was sold out.

Psyched-up Knicks fans scrambled to snatch up Melo’s No. 7 threads yesterday, lining up at stores to buy them right out of the box.

“I had to celebrate the moment, the moment of truth, the moment I can start cheering for the beloved New York Knicks,” said Daniel Salinas, 20, of Bayside, Queens.

Salinas said he waited six hours at the Modell’s Sporting Goods store in Times Square to be among the first to snag the jersey of the new Knickerbocker star.

Matt Angrist, 25, of Murray Hill, said he skipped work and waited three hours at the Modell’s store to buy the $46.96 blue and orange jersey.

“I’ve been a Knicks fan my whole life,” Angrist said. “We are back. I wanted to be the first one in New York to wear it.”
