Carmelo Anthony Responds To George Karl

After scoring 27 points in his Knicks debut at the Garden in a 114-108 win over the Bucks, Anthony took exception to comments his former head coach made during TNT’s broadcast of the Nuggets-Celtics game Thursday night.
“Melo is the best offensive player I’ve ever coached, but his defensive focus, his demand of himself is what frustrated us more than anything,” George Karl said in his brief sideline comments.
It didn’t take long for Anthony to fire back on his verified twitter account (@carmeloanthony).
“Damn, are u serious,” he tweeted. “Some people never seize to amaze me. Unbelievable.”
He followed up with: “WHEN THE GRASS IS CUT THE SNAKES WILL SHOW.”
The Denver Post reported that Anthony did not return a text when asked to comment about his tweets.
Anthony, when asked to respond to being dissed by his former boss on Friday, said: “That’s him. That’s George Karl so I don’t really try to pay too much attention to that. I know what I’ve done there in the 7 1/2 years I’ve been there; going to the Western Conference Finals. Last year, we were top five in a lot of categories. All that stuff, I don’t know where it’s coming from. I try not to pay too much attention to it.”
But while there appears to be bad blood between the coach and his former star player, Anthony was quick to praise his former teammates after the Nuggets victory.
“Congrats to the homies. Great win tonite.”
