David Tyree Says He Would Trade His Amazing Super Bowl Catch To End Same Sex Marriage

Former Giants wide receiver David Tyree apparently doesn’t love his Super Bowl ring more than hating an alternative lifestyle.
Tyree, who was quoted last week that instituting legal gay marriage in the state of New York would be a step toward “anarchy,” strengthened his sanctity stance on Monday. He told the New York Daily News he would trade in his big catch against New England in Super Bowl XLII if it meant marriage would remain an exclusively heterosexual union.
When asked if he would give up the defining moment of his career, one treasured by Giants fans who fondly look back upon the team’s shocking upset of the Patriots, he said: “Honestly, I probably would.”
“Nothing means more to me than that my God would be honored,” Tyree also told the newspaper. “Being the fact that I firmly believe that God created and ordained marriage between a man and a woman, I believe that that’s something that should be fought for at all costs. So I’ll lay down everything I am to preserve the honor and integrity of the God that I serve.”
Tyree maintained his thinking that allowing same-sex unions would open the floodgates that would “continue to soften the backbone of society.”
