On Tuesday 24th January 2012, the US Senate will vote on the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect IP Act (PIPA).  I’m all for companies trying to combat piracy and protecting their property, but these proposed laws are not the answer. They are too vague, too broad and too ripe for abuse.

There are many companies against SOPA and PIPA, such as GoogleRedditFacebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, and we are joining them by also bringing our site down for 12 hours (8:00 am est – 8:00 pm est). We may not be the heavy-hitters those guys are, or as influential, but laws like this could affect us, and in turn, affect you.
