Lupe Fiasco may have made peace with Chief Keef, but he may have a new beef brewing… with D.L Hughley!  The comedian and political commentator had some harsh words for Lupe based on the rapper’s recent claims that he is not going to vote in the upcoming election.

“He’s bright as hell, but dumb in the weight of the world,” Hughley told the Hot Morning Crew about the socially conscious rapper, who Hughley feels lacks life experience, and whose political apathy may be dangerous.  “Young black men are going to listen to him,” Hughley said of Lupe. “They are the ones who have decisions made for them, [decisions] that they are not even involved in, which is silly to me.”

Hughley wasn’t just on the attack, though.  He also had some words of advice for the rapper. “You can’t go through life and not be a participant, and hope things work out for your benefit,” he said. “When you vote or not vote, you are saying yes or no.”

The comedian continued, saying “They want to raise the age of social security from 65 to 68… Black men die at 67. Lupe Fiasco forgets that he’s going to be an old man when he’s looking for a social security check, and he dies right before he gets it!”

Lupe wasn’t Hughley’s only target for criticism, as the politically-slanted funny man feels our society as a whole is deliberately apathetic. “The only reason to not know something in today’s society is because you don’t want to,” stated Hugely. “It’s silly to me that people don’t want to have a hand in their future.”

D.L. Hughley will be performing tonight at the Comedy Connection at the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee, Massachusetts.  His comedy set will focus on politics, and everything else… but the real question is, will he have anything more to say on Lupe Fiasco?
