A guest’s dissatisfaction with a restaurant’s poor service escalated past rationality.

James Phillips and Destin McMahon found themselves dodging bullets in Winter Park, FL, after restaurant owner Quoc Tran fired a shot at their car because of the customers’ refusal to pay their bill.

According to WDBO, “McMahon refused to pay his $19 tab because he said he only took a few bites before sending it back.”

After McMahon complained to Tran, the disgruntled owner began shouting at the two guests, which prompted them to leave. Tran then followed McMahon and Phillips out with his cook, and began kicking Phillips’ car.

As Phillips was driving away, Tran took out a small handgun and fired a bullet that lodged itself in the car’s rear bumper.

Phillips told reporters that he plans on suing the Tran and cook for the damages to his car.
