A U.S. judge has thrown former TLC star T-Boz’s bankruptcy case out of court after failing to make any attempts to pay off her debts.

The singer, real name Tionne Watkins, filed documents in October (11) at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court after racking up debts of more than $700,000 (£437,500).

But the case was dismissed last week (end05Feb12) because Watkins had not made an effort to try and settle her bills or appear at a creditors’ meeting, reports Tmz.com.

The judge has now given her creditors permission to freely go after her assets until she files for bankruptcy again.

However, she will be unable to refile until the end of July (12) at the earliest – because there has to be a 180 day period after the dismissal of the original case before she can try again.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Whitney Houston, who reigned as pop music’s queen until her majestic voice and regal image were ravaged by drug use, has died. She was 48.

Publicist Kristen Foster said Saturday that the singer had died, but the cause and the location of her death were unclear.

At her peak in the 1980s and ’90s, Houston the golden girl of the music industry and one of the world’s best-selling artists.

Among her hits were “How Will I Know,” “Saving All My Love for You” and “I Will Always Love You.” She won multiple Grammys including album and record of the year.

Her success carried her beyond music to movies like “The Bodyguard.”

But by the end of her career, drug use took its toll as her record sales plummeted and her voice became raspy and hoarse.

T.I. and Dr. Dre are reportedly shooting a video for their collaboration “Popped Off,” included on Tip’s latest mixtape release Fuck Da City Up , or a previously unheard duet.

In a series of tweets, entertainment manager Antonio Hewlett announced a casting call for a T.I. and Dre music video. The clip will be shot in Atlanta, Georgia next weekend.

Athens-Clarke police arrested a legless man Tuesday night on charges he raped an 11-year-old relative at his home on Athens’ Eastside.

Elbert Roman Tate, 33, was charged with rape, child molestation, aggravated sexual battery and sexual battery, police said.

A judge denied bail during Tate’s bond hearing Wednesday in Athens-Clarke County Magistrate Court.

Tate lives on Barnett Shoals Road with a woman who became suspicious after the man made two trips in a wheelchair to use a restroom on the other side of the home, even though there was another one next to their bedroom, Athens-Clarke police Capt. Clarence Holeman said.

“She felt something wasn’t right because he was gone so long, and she actually heard him go into the bathroom that’s adjacent to the child’s bedroom,” Holeman said.

One time, Tate returned about 45 minutes after he told the woman he’s used the restroom, Holeman said.

Someone later drove Tate to an apartment at Clarke Gardens off Barnett Shoals Road, Holeman said, and that’s when the woman acted on her suspicions and asked her daughter if anything happened.

That’s when the girl told her mother that Tate had wheeled himself into her room, climbed into her bed, then fondled and raped her, Holeman said.

Investigators collected evidence that corroborated the girl’s story, according to Holeman,

“I don’t want to say what we have, but it’s definitely a good case and we can back it up in court,” he said.

Holeman, who is commanding officer of the Centralized Criminal Investigations Division, found this case particularly disturbing, he said.

“I read the report (Wednesday) morning with disgust,” he said. “To me, the job of law enforcement is to protect people, especially children, and this (case) is extremely hard to deal with.”

Just three weeks before his arrest, on Jan. 17, a Clarke County State Court judge placed Tate on probation for two years after he pleaded guilty to simple battery and obstruction of a 911 call that stemmed from an altercation with the rape victim’s mother in November, according to court records.

Birmingham, England-based His Hair Clinic uses what it describes as “a mild form of medical tattooing” to simulate the look of shaved or closely cropped hair. The company announced via its blog that representatives will travel to San Francisco and Florida this summer to market the technique.

The procedure, which His Hair Clinic calls “hair follicle replication,” takes three hours to complete and requires an additional follow-up session. Clients shave or cut their hair in order to blend the tattoos with their natural follicles.

The company says that the earliest American procedures will take place between July 20 and August 5.

Atlanta actress and singer Ne-Yo’s girlfriend, Monyetta Shaw, has agreed to “adopt” 48 children in the African nation of Swaziland, reports TMZ.

The children will not be living with Shaw in the United States, but she will be paying for their costs for an entire year, which equals to a $20,000 commitment. When the calculations are complete, the care for the 48 children will cost $30 a month and equal to $17,280 per year.

Shaw was asked by Football Wives celebreality star Chanita Foster, founder of the charity called Beyond the Game which provides children in Swaziland with food, clothes, and education, to donate to her cause. After Shaw saw the children in the charity’s brochure, she “fell in love” with them, reports TMZ.

A South Bend mother returned home Monday night with her son and discovered Keith Davis, 46, had broken in and cleaned her apartment in the 4600-block of Lance Court.

“I seen my living room light on and the bedroom light on, so once we came up the stairs I figured my brother was home. I turned the knob and it was locked, so I seen my screen open and I pushed my window open and it was some random guy in my kitchen,” said tenant Ashley Murray.

Murray then walked away from the window with her son and called police before yelling at Davis to leave her home.

“I’m like ‘the police are on their way’ and he told me ‘the police already been here’, closed my window, locked it back up and closed my door and sat in a chair in front of the window until the police came. Once I finally got a chance to get in I then notice he cooked some chicken and onions in a pan, folded my clothes up and swept my floor,” said Murray. “The police said it looked like he was a good chef. it looked like he had broth and everything in it.”

Davis told police he had woken up in the apartment and a woman told him to get a set of keys from a closet. Murray said Davis had a set of her keys in his pocket when he was arrested and suspects Davis had been watching her and saw when she placed a set of keys in a storage unit for her brother to use when he arrived later that night from Indianapolis.

When officers asked Davis where he lived he gave officers an address on Lance Court that didn’t exist.

Davis was arrested despite adamantly stating he was in his own home and charged with breaking and entering, a Class D felony.

“Me and the police think he was on some type of drug. He really seemed to think this was his home,” said Murray. “How could you not look at the pictures and none of that and realize you don’t know nobody? I don’t think no drug can do that once you come in and see there’s nothing in here that you know. The apartments are alike, but you knew this wasn’t your house.”

Murray said her son later recognized Davis as a neighbor from across the complex who he had seen staring at him and his friends as they played outside.

Despite breaking into the apartment, Davis didn’t steal anything beyond the food.

“He drunk up my orange juice, but it’s cool because he swept up my floor and folded my clothes,” said Murray.

Prosecutors requested a $5,000 bond because Murray was concerned he may return, however the judge lowered it to $1,000.

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio – Police say an Ohio man who stuck his 3-year-old son in a clothes dryer as punishment and then turned it on is facing child endangerment charges.

The Zanesville Times Recorder reports that 40-year-old Jamial Bayly is scheduled for a video arraignment Thursday in Cambridge Municipal Court.

Guernsey County Sheriff Michael McCauley says deputies went to the Cambridge home Sunday after getting a tip from family members.

The sheriff says the father acknowledged putting the boy in the dryer earlier in the day. Deputies didn’t see any visible injuries on him. McCauley says he doesn’t know how long the boy had been in the dryer.

The sheriff says the boy was released to his mother, who wasn’t home when deputies arrived.

Cambridge Municipal Court records don’t list an attorney for Bayly.

A Willowbrook man wanted to get money from his family, so he staged his own kidnapping and demanded a $1,000 ransom, NBC 5 Chicago reports.

Dorian Ford, 19, is now charged with a Class 4 felony of filing a false crime report.
DuPage County sheriff’s officials said they received a report of the alleged kidnapping at about 7 p.m. Tuesday. Family members reported they’d received a call telling them them that Ford, of the 10s600 block of Ivy Lane, had been kidnapped.

The caller demanded $1,000, police said.

Responding officers later found Ford. They said he told them he’d been kidnapped and hit over the head. After investigating, it was revealed that Ford had not been kidnapped or harmed and that he allegedly made the phone call, report and ransom demand himself.

LAS VEGAS – Rap music mogul Marion “Suge” Knight is facing a March court date in Las Vegas following his arrest on a 2009 traffic warrant and a new misdemeanor drug charge, authorities said Thursday.

The former Death Row Records executive, 46, was stopped driving a black Bentley with California license plates about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on a street just off Flamingo Road west of the Las Vegas Strip, Officer Laura Meltzer said.

Knight was issued an unsafe lane change summons and arrested on a warrant stemming from previous traffic infractions. He also was charged with possession of less than one ounce of a controlled substance and released from jail without bail.

Celebrity website TMZ first reported the arrest. It said Knight had marijuana with him in the car.

Knight is due March 12 in Las Vegas Municipal Court, where court spokeswoman Jill Christensen said he was sought on a March 2009 warrant for failure to appear on three traffic violations — following too closely, failure to surrender a suspended license plate and being a non-resident driving on a suspended or revoked driver’s license. The original charges stemmed from a traffic stop in November 2008.

No charge was immediately filed on the misdemeanor drug charge, which would be handled separately in Las Vegas Justice Court.

Attorney David Chesnoff, who has represented Knight in previous Las Vegas cases, was traveling Thursday and unavailable for immediate comment.

Chesnoff represented Knight when felony drug and battery charges were dropped in December 2008 following an incident in which Knight was accused of beating a woman while holding a knife in a parking lot near the Strip. Knight also was charged with felony possession of the drugs Ecstasy and hydrocodone.

Chesnoff said at the time that prosecutors had problems collecting evidence and witness accounts.

Knight, who grew up in the Los Angeles area, once played football for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He went on to co-found Death Row Records, which helped make stars of rappers such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur.

Knight was at the wheel of a car in which Shakur was shot and killed in 1996 in Las Vegas. The debt-ridden record label later went bankrupt and was sold.
