ISLIP TERRACE, N.Y. – Police say a man lighting off fireworks at a Long Island party blew off his arm.
Suffolk County police say friends of Eric Smith, 36, retrieved his severed left arm and packed it into a cooler after the blast but doctors at Southside Hospital in Bay Shore were not able to reattach the limb.
