An 11-year-old boy killed himself after allegedly believing his teenage girlfriend had died falling victim to a cruel internet prank that nearly mimics the story of “Romeo and Juliet.” Police believe Tysen Benz hanged himself after social media posts indicated his 13-year-old girlfriend committed suicide when she had not. While the girl involved has not been identified since she’s a minor, prosecutors have authorized charges against her for malicious use of a computer to commit a crime.
