CLEVELAND – newsnet5.com obtained exclusive cell phone video showing a beating that could have been life ending.
The robbery happened at East 93rd Street and Union Avenue on Friday.
“I had just gotten paid-” said Tyler King. “I had just cashed my check and went and bought some new LeBrons.”
King said the two men who are seen in the video attacking him wanted what was in his pocket.
“They were like, ‘You know what it is. Give me all that,” said King.
King said the two men approached him from behind. One man was armed.
“I had to break his wrist a little bit,” said King.
King wrestled the gun away, but shots still rang out.
The attack all happened just feet from an elementary school, where classes went on lockdown for 15 minutes.
The attack left King with a concussion.
Somewhere along the way to his grandmother’s house on the bus, King said he slipped and showed too much.
“When I got my bus pass I didn’t realize that my money was in the same pocket and eventually I had to take something out,” said King
