Markelus Carter, 46, is on trial for aggravated murder in Lima, Ohio and was accidentally put in the same holding cell with the witness, who is also an inmate, of the crime.

Markelus Carter is on trial for the 2009 murder of Kenneth Warrington.
Your News Now reports that during an afternoon break, Carter was mistakenly placed in a holding cell with his former block mate Steven Upham.
Upham was reportedly going to testify that Carter told him details of the murder.
After the two were placed in a cell together, video shows Carter punch Upham and a fight ensues.
After about two minutes, corrections officers were able to break up the fight.
Although Carter’s lawyer asked for a mistrial based on the fight, the judge denied his request.
