The backlash was immediate and many people have taken to Twitter and Facebook to discuss their negative feelings. HBO issued a statement Saturday morning writing, “Bill Maher’s comment last night was completely inexcusable and tasteless. We are removing his deeply offensive comment from any subsequent airings of the show.” However, backlash has continued.
