Metropolitan Police Service has released video of a car theft attempt that probably didn’t work out the way the perpetrator had imagined.
Police in London are still on the hunt for a man who went on a crime spree late September, committing 3 offenses. Metropolitan Police Service has released a video of one of them that probably didn’t work out the way the perpetrator had imagined. The footage shows the man cutting a hole into the cloth top of a red Porsche convertible. When he spots somebody walking by, he stops and tries to look casual. Once the area is mostly clear, he enters the car through the opening he made. There’s no audio, but it is clear the rear lights of the vehicle begin flashing as soon as the perpetrator sets foot inside. Another person happens by, glances at the car with the blinking lights and a giant hole in the top, and keeps walking. Soon after, the would-be thief appears to give up on trying to steal the car, exiting the Porsche the same way he entered. Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and arresting the man.
